When you have LESS, you are able to enjoy what you have MORE. Make one simple, attainable goal at a time. For example, ” Tonight I am going to clear out a kitchen drawer that is getting out of hand.” or … “Saturday I am going to make a permanent DONATION BOX for the garage, show my family and ask them to help fill it!”

Friday, June 4th, 2010
Getting Started. That is the first key. The reality is that you won’t find the time if you continue to pledge that you “don’t have the time!” Start today and commit to 15 minutes a day. Tackle a junk drawer. Place all items you don’t need or use in a donation box. Throw away things that are broken. Group like items together and divided from other item groups.
The second key is Becoming Consistent. Keep at it. 15 minutes a day equals 1 hour 45 minutes a week, 7 hours a month! Every minute you spend adds up to more order and less stress.

Doing Laundry is less of a chore if you teach your family members to deliver their dirty clothes to the laundry room and sort their items into Darks/Lights/Whites. Go one step further and color code using a white laundry basket, a pastel color basket for lights and a navy blue or hunter green one for darks. Even if the baskets begin to overflow, that’s ok.The clothes are sorted and ready for the next step!
